At the ZKM | Medialounge, the direct call-up of 12000 pieces of music and 1200 artists videos was possible already ten years before music and video was to become permanently available on the net. The audio- and video collection already networked within the  Museum of time-based Art is now presented in its entirety in the exhibition YOU_ser: The Century of the Consumer at the ZKM.
On show are the artistic approaches to video art, from the beginnings in the 1960s until the present and, to be heard, is the electro-acoustic music and radiophonic art of the 1950s up to contemporary works. The video collection represents, among many more, Bruce Nauman, Peter Weibel, Vito Acconci, Nam June Paik, Bill Viola or Marina Abramovic; in the audio collection Karlheinz Stockhausen, Luc Ferrari, Iannis Xenakis, John Cage, Ludger Brümmer or Wolfgang Rihm. In addition to single pieces of work, the audio collection contains the International Digital ElectroAcoustic Music Archive (IDEAMA) as well as the Archiv der Deutschen Gesellschaft für elektroakustische Musik (DEGEM). The video collection shows, among others, the complete video magazine of the 1980s Infermental and the award winner of the \\internationalen\medien\kunst\preises. The developments in music and video art can be traced and compared by being called up directly by the exhibition visitors
